H.E. Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, received in his office H.E. Mr. Saad bin Mubarak Al-Naimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Ethiopia. During the meeting, they discussed ways to develop and consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries. They also agreed to hold political consultations on January, 2025.

H.E. Ambassador Negus Kebede, Director-General of Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received H.E. Mr. Saad Mubarak Al-Naimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the FDR of Ethiopia. During the meeting, they discussed the pending issues between the two countries, in addition to topics of common interest and ways to Enhance them.

On the occasion of the African Union Reconstruction and Development Week – the Embassy participated in the “Peace Walk” organized by the African Union at its headquarters in the capital Addis Ababa. The walk was a call to action for all stakeholders, to end conflicts and sustain peace in Africa, through peacebuilding initiatives. Various stakeholders (Embassies, International orgs, NGOs, Universities, Schools) participated to create greater awareness on sustainable peace,security, prosperity& dev't in Africa.

The Embassy participated in the Cairo Peace Initiative, organized in cooperation with the African Union Commission for Political Affairs, Peace and Security and the United Nations Programme on Political Affairs and Peacebuilding, a high-level dialogue entitled: “Promoting Consensus towards a Common African Position on the Review of the African Union Peacebuilding Architecture for 2025” held at the African Union Headquarters, during the African Union Conference Week on Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development.

H.E the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, received European Union Ambassador-Designate, H.E. Sofie From-Emmesberger, and during the meeting, they discussed matters of common interest.

H.E. the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the FDR of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, received Dr. Rita Bissoonauth - Director of the UNESCO Liaison Office in Ethiopia and UNESCO Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. During the meeting, matters of common interest were discussed.

H.E the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union received a courtesy visit from H.E. Mr. Nakagawa Tsutomu - Ambassador of Japan to the African Union. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed issues related to the African Union.

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a cable of congratulations today to HE President Taye Atske Selassie, on the occasion of his election and taking the constitutional oath as President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, wishing him success and the relations between the two countries further development and growth

H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a written message to H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, pertaining to bilateral relations and means of supporting and developing them. The message was delivered by Mr. Mohamed Ismail Mustafawi, Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Ethiopia, during his meeting with H.E. Ambassador Negus Kebede, Director General for Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
